There are wedding flowers and there are wedding flowers! And these beautiful floral arrangements that we created for stunning bride Ilona were really very special wedding flowers indeed! When Ilona saw the pretty pink bouquet on the cover of Conde Nast Brides magazine (www.bridesmagazine.co.uk) back in May, she got in touch immediately. Lots of lovely emails later and we came up with this beautiful version for a gorgeous early Autumn wedding at Nonsuch Mansion in Surrey (www.nonsuchmansion.com)….
And for the wedding party, posies for the bridesmaids made up solely of my most favourite type of lisianthus. It’s called Alissa and has a tutu like frilly edge, quite possibly the prettiest of wedding flowers!
For the guys, the most traditional, but always stylish, of wedding flowers, the rose, which we paired with a masculine sprig of rosemary for the buttonholes.
Finally, the show stopping long and low arrangement for the ceremony and top table. (Wedding flowers cost saving hint – reuse arrangements on the day, get your ushers to move ceremony flowers to the reception venue). Bursting with flowers, the arrangement included hydrangeas, dahlias, roses, bouvardia and snapdragons. In a riot of pink, peach and orange it complemented Ilona’s pink and gold colour scheme just perfectly.
