Unveiling Wedding Flower Trends 2024

Planning your wedding this year and looking for inspiration for your wedding flowers?  Well great news!  2024 looks set to really shake up what’s going to be hot in wedding flower trends.  Think bold, bright, statement.  Less is more, tall is best, petite can pack a punch.  And beautiful ceramics push glass vases aside.

Yes wild and wonderful floral arrangements, packed with layers and layers of foliage is coming to an end (for now).  Like any creative industry, trends are inescapable.  As a result, Brides and Grooms should expect to see less of  these featuring on wedding blogs and socials.  And while wedding flower trends should always be taken with a pinch of salt – especially when it comes to a day so personal – I thought it would be a bit of frivolous fun to take a look at what’s going to be rocking the aisles up and down the country this year.

Bright & Bold Designs

From arches to table centres, a more structural style is showing itself to be growing in popularity. Large hydrangea heads, fully blown peonies, reflexed roses and elegant anthuriums are key ingredients.  What’s more, even though I love the texture and softness that foliage brings to any arrangement, these designs use very little greenery.

Single Flower Variety Bouquets

Of course, bridal bouquets also illustrate this wedding floral trend as we see more and more bouquets using only a single type of flower.  Long stems of luxury roses are everywhere, as well as smaller versions for the more petite bride as carried by Sofia Ritchie last year.

Ceramics

Finally, vessels.  Mason jars have had their day while clay pots and footed bowls are in.  Perfect for hiding ugly stems or using eco friendly floral frogs, they exude elegance and style.

So to sum up, I see wedding floral trends 2024 being about taking bold choices and aiming for max impact – but not necessarily with more flowers.   The choices are endless and I, for one, am super excited about this new direction.
